Jeremy Barnes
Jeremy is CEO and joined the company on its incorporation in 2001. From 1998 to 2000, Jeremy was Managing Director of XL Financial Solutions in London where he led a specialist team that structured and arranged insurance risk transfer deals for the Bermuda re-insurer, XL Capital. From 1993 to 1999, Jeremy was Director of Corporate Finance at British Aerospace where he led the team that placed a $3.8 billion insurance risk transfer deal relating to BAe's portfolio of 550 regional aircraft. From 1982 to 1991, Jeremy spent nine years at Citicorp and specialised in leveraged finance, structured finance and buy-outs.
Martin Brennan
Martin joined the company in January 2002 and is Group CFO. Prior to joining, Martin was a Senior Vice President with Marsh, a leading insurance broker. At Marsh, Martin originated, structured and placed structured insurance risk. Martin was a key part of the team that structured and placed a $1.2 billion SAAB Financial Risk Insurance Programme and was instrumental in placing the first surety bonds acceptable to the UK Strategic Rail Authority. From 1988, Martin worked at British Aerospace where he has held a wide variety of finance and commercial roles across its Commercial Aerospace activities and Corporate Finance divisions.
Sarah Dichlian
Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 1989 having trained as a transactional lawyer with the London City firm DLA Piper. Sarah is responsible for deal origination, transactional structuring and deal placing in Orbis Capital Limited. Sarah joined the Company on its incorporation in 2001 and was responsible for finalising the initial investment in Orbis from Alchemy Partners. Prior to the incorporation of Orbis, Sarah was Managing Director of XL Financial Solutions in London. Sarah moved to XL from BAe Systems where she held a variety of positions from General Counsel in the Commercial Aerospace Division to the Commercial Director of the Commercial Operating Lease Division. Sarah was appointed as Company Secretary to the Orbis parent company, the MVIL group in July 2006.
James Greenstreet
James has 20 years experience in corporate and asset finance and joined the company on its incorporation in November 2001. Previously, James worked for IBM Global Finance where he was responsible for managing IBM's debt book into third party European telecom and technology transactions. From 1999 to 2000, James was a Managing Director of XL Financial Solutions in London where he was part of a specialist team that structured and arranged insurance risk transfer deals for the Bermuda re-insurer, XL Capital. From 1995 to 1999, James was Vice President of Corporate Finance at British Aerospace where he had responsibility for the European financing and corporate finance activities within BAe's commercial aerospace business. From 1987 to 1993, James spent six years in the tax department at Arthur Andersen.
Mark Hughes
Mark joined the Company on its incorporation in November 2001. Mark has 13 years experience in asset and structured finance and at Orbis is focused towards the aerospace sector. Prior to Orbis, Mark was Assistant Managing Director of XL Financial Solutions in London where he was part of a specialist team that structured and arranged insurance risk transfer deals for the Bermuda re-insurer, XL Capital. From 1997 to 1999, Mark was a Manager in Corporate Finance at British Aerospace where he was part of the team responsible for aircraft finance, risk pricing and credit analysis within the commercial aerospace division. Mark worked in the structured finance team at Royal Bank of Scotland focused on ship finance.
David Skinner
David is responsible for quantitative and risk modelling. He joined the Company in January 2002 shortly after its incorporation. David is a qualified actuary with 11 years commercial experience in the insurance and structured finance markets. His recent experience includes modelling and structural analysis of a broad range of asset classes including consumer credit, real estate, aerospace and shipping. He has developed a range of models in these areas from complex Monte Carlo simulation models and CDO models, to basic cashflow models, as well as development of balance sheet models. Prior to Orbis Capital David worked for five years in the London insurance market in Catastrophe Reinsurance, Marine, Non-Marine and finite risk insurance.
Philip Duggan
Philip joined the company in March 2007. He is responsible for advising and structuring asset-backed finance solutions and managing associated offset liabilities. Philip has a proven private equity track record, specialising in central and Eastern European markets. Most recently he worked for Consensus Business Group, where he was responsible for developing and executing asset-backed offset transactions, working throughout Europe with leading defence manufacturers.
Chris Terry
Chris joined the company in April 2007. He is a qualified actuary with 6 years insurance and reinsurance experience. Chris is responsible for developing transaction models and technical analysis. He has extensive analytical and modelling skills gained initially within the commercial (re)insurance industry where he has worked both in-house and as a consultant. Since his move to Orbis he has extended his skills into the wider corporate finance and structured finance markets.
